Rosy's Newsletter July 2007

	Dear Guests and Friends,

	The heat wave has passed although the famous song had never been so true for us here on Agistri!. “We’re having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave”! Temperatures across the mainland and the Saronic Gulf soared in the past ten days to the late 40’s, although luckily it was accompanied by a light breeze which made it more manageable.

	However the temperatures have now dropped to a more familiar level for this time of the year. It is a joy to see all our visitors enjoying the soothing coolness of the sea in between soaking up the sun or continuing to explore our lovely island. Naturally, it makes us all think about global warming and wonder whether this is a further sign of the unrelenting march of this combination of natural and unnatural phenomenon.

	Agistri island update The new Mayor and his team have got off to a flying start with the projects they promised to undertake to improve the island. To add to the pleasure of our visitors’ strolls along the shore road, the Mayor has decreed that, during evening hours, this road will be for pedestrians only. Alongside the new cleaning measures which have been implemented we are confident this will add to Agistri’s reputation for being a clean and relaxing environment.

Epidavros Festival Programme

The Epidavros Festival has announced its programme for its famous annual festival. Set in its ancient theatre the drama of the setting fully complements the drama on stage:

	Timetables Flying Dolphin The timetables for the Flying Dolphin have been updated as the number of visitors to Agistri increases and the high season approaches. Aegean has also added a service to Epidavros which provides a fantastic opportunity to see this historic site and perhaps take in a performance.
